‘Reframe Your Thoughts – Refresh Your Vision’
Life throws us challenges and curves continually at home and in the workplace. For you personally, as an employee and in management, this helps you decide how you view them, review them and Reframe them to be positive. There is empowerment in positively Refreshing Your Vision!
‘Identity Theft – The Effects of Workplace Bullying'
The goal of the workshop is to understand the subject better and give people a way to Refresh Their Vision and give them positive tools for their immediate future, whether they are being bullied, the bully or a bystander, an employer or employee. From the employers’ fiscal management perspective, the employer and employees can’t afford not to take this workshop.
Some comments from the “Identity Theft – The Effects of Workplace Bullying” seminar:
“Very informative. A course that promotes awareness that bullying does not only happen in the school yard.” R.D.
“It was very well organized and extensive. There were real life examples and scenarios (which were relatable). Workshops like this should be done in (more) workplaces.” T.O.
“I think this is a very important course and important for me to see things differently.” A.S.
“Very informative – can equate to all phases of life.”
These workshops range from a half day to full day session. Session speaking is also available.

Where Did All The Bullies Go
Recently I was speaking to someone and we got on the subject of Bullies at school and in the workplace. This person’s family had the misfortune of experiencing it simultaneously on both fronts, in elementary and in the workplace. The person’s spouse had recently moved jobs because of a boss that was unbearable and took pleasure in bullying at every opportunity. Not only did this boss berate and ridicule, but lied and cheated as part of a daily routine. In the same week, a family friend came to visit from out of Province and told us of the bullying that has been occurring at the workplace by this person’s Manager. This particular Manager’s behavior was known and by virtue of keeping this person employed – accepted, despite complaints and employees getting fed up and continually quitting work at this recognized and well used non‐profit organization. Even the provincial employment office tries to steer people away from working there due to the high volume of complaints of employees that have left or been let go! This Manager displayed ridiculous behavior that didn’t even make sense on any level. This friend, who is a health care professional and who has a high level of tolerance, quit for the good of their sanity and health. One really has to wonder what type of childhood these Boss Bullies had – one would think it was seriously dysfunctional.
Another type of bullying is called ‘lateral violence’ ..... (click here to see the rest of the article)
Conduct in(g) Meetings
Yes indeed, this is an odd title! When "conducting" meetings, the ground rules for "conduct" in meetings needs to be openly discussed. Recently, I attended a meeting where 2 people in senior positions openly expressed themselves by rolling their eyes when certain people were speaking. As well, their body language clearly displayed they would much rather be somewhere else. The people across from these individuals "perceived" this as being very unprofessional and disrespectful of other peoples' input. Whether the intent of their body language was truly that of disrespect, is only known by them. The fact does remain that regardless of the reason, it was perceived as unprofessional and inappropriate and was 'indeed' that.
What is the appropriate conduct in meetings? Before I answer that, let's briefly explore why we should have meetings. ....(click here to see the rest of the article)
Professional Procurement
Whether you are in Private or Public sector purchasing, developing a network of other purchasers through meetings, forums or virtually is educational, inspiring at times and often times full of laughter. Here are some inspiring thoughts from the 2019 NIGP Forum from Roy Spence, Pete Smith, Kevin McCarthy and others. NIGP-2019-Forum-In-Review-Article.pdf (nigp-cwc.ca)
